I was called on to raise this 32' Wellcraft that sank after a hose broke in the engine
compartment. The boat weighed about 10,500 lbs and sank in 25' of water at Four Corners
Marina. The boat was raised and placed on a trailer for transport.
In the above images I was working at Harbor Island Yacht Club replacing some large
concrete anchors for their mooring buoys. The anchors were located on the bottom,
lifted and then towed into position and re-sunk with the mooring chain and buoy
attached. The anchors weighed 800-1200 pounds each.
This 42'  houseboat sank after the starboard lower unit boot cracked.  It was located at
Nashville Shores.  The boat was raised using
Prolift Lift Bags and the water pumped
out.  The boat was then towed to Elm Hill Marina and put on trailer for repairs.  This boat
was just lifted in December of 2005.
This inboard sank after having a hole form over time from beaching the boat along the
shore.  The hole was right along the keel and was caused by friction.  The boat was a total
loss due to being left in the water a long time before having it removed.
This sailboat sank at Nashville Shores over a lift slip.  The boat weighed
about 5000lbs and was raised with three Prolift lifting bags.  I believe it was a
Coronado 25.
This is a 30' Sea Ray that sank at Nashville Shores for some unknown reason. I placed a
couple of 4000 lb. bags under the stern to lift it higher in the water and then I pumped the
boat out with two 2" pumps. The boat sat for a couple of hours while waiting for the trailer to
arrive and we could find no water leaking at the time, so it is unknown why it sank in the first
place.
The above boat is a 40' Owens wooden cruiser that sank in its slip at Cherokee Marina on
Old Hickory Lake. It was not known why it sank, but after we got the boat put on the trailer we
discovered that planks below the waterline on the port side were rotted. The last two
pictures show some of the deterioration of these planks.
When boating on area lakes be on the lookout for divers in the water. Divers  should be
displaying both of these flags in the area that they are conducting diving operations. Use
caution when approaching these areas or dropping anchor. For further information on
boating and diving regulations in Tennessee refer to
Tennessee Boating/Diving Safety.
Code letter "A" flag. It means Diver Down.

Here are a couple of pictures showing one of my dive flags and a lift bag to the right
that  has an anchor hanging under it that was found on the bottom during a dive. I
usually have at least two buoys with both the red and white flag and the code letter
"A" flag out around my boat when making a dive to warn boaters that divers are in the
water. I also have a flag on the sailboat flying as well. I still have boaters wander into
the dive area not knowing what the flags are. The name on the side of my sailboat is
"Seeker".
